About Naveen
Naveen is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon based in Melbourne and Ballarat, with nearly two decades of medical experience helping people move better and manage pain in their limbs. He has dedicated his career to treating bone and joint conditions with the latest evidence-based techniques, always focusing on what matters most—getting his patients back to doing the things they love.
Naveen specialises in treating conditions of the foot and ankle, hip, and knee. Many of his patients come to him with painful bunions, joint instability, difficulty walking, or injuries like broken bones (in the upper and lower limb), and he takes pride in offering solutions that fit their lifestyles. His goal is simple: to help people regain their mobility and confidence with expert care and a personal, down-to-earth approach.
Naveen studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and trained at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Clinical School. Initially planning to become a rural GP, he started his medical career in Ballarat but soon discovered a deep passion for treating bone and joint conditions. This led him to pursue extensive orthopaedic surgical training, working under renowned orthopaedic surgeons across Victoria, Tasmania, and New South Wales.
Eager to bring the best techniques to his patients, Naveen spent a year in Bordeaux, France, completing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery at University Hospital Bordeaux, one of the world’s leading centres for this advanced technique. His training also took him to Barcelona University Hospital, where he learned from some of the best in the field. Now, he brings these cutting-edge techniques home to Australia, ensuring his patients receive world-class care with a personal touch.
Beyond surgery, Naveen is a passionate educator. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Melbourne University and Deakin University Medical Schools and has also been an anatomy demonstrator and examiner at Monash University, where he enjoyed helping the next generation of doctors understand the complexities of the human body.
When he’s not in the operating theatre, you’ll likely find Naveen pitching a tent in the backyard with his two young daughters, passing on his love of adventure and the outdoors.

Dr. and Mr. in the context of a surgeon in the Australian setting is interchangeable. In fact, there is a move to use the term Dr. in most states.
